Sorry I am late getting this latest blog entry written....the past few weeks have been wore me down more than ever before. Between my business and my football life, there is not much time to write very often. I usually fall asleep at my man-room office desk while watching 'HUDL' or maybe watching something on the internet. Hey, I am not complaining, because I signed up for this. Its part of the job. I sure love what I am doing though.
We defeated district rival Port St. Lucie Centennial (SLWC) 20-15 last Friday night. Again, the game was a brutal battle between two undefeated football teams....each fighting for control of the district. Our great defense held us in the game while the offense got our act together. SLWC had a good game plan and kept us at bay for most of the game. We made some halftime adjustments and managed to score a couple times in the second half to finally secure the victory. Our kids are gritty and they know how to win. We got out of enemy territory with a hard-fought victory which brings our record to 6-0. The next few weeks do not get any easier.
This week we have another tough game with Ft Pierce Westwood (5-1) This game is HOMECOMING for us, so there are a lot of distractions to deal with. Westwood is a much-improved 5A program with lots of athletes, so the game will be another challenge for us. Although not our district rival, Westwood should win their own district which is no easy feat. There is no rest for the weary. We refuse to look forward, and we will continue to take one game at a time.
I am planning on heading to St. Augustine this Saturday Morning to watch my grandson Grice play in a football game. I think he plays at 10am, and this means I will have to leave my house by 7am to get there in time. But, it will be worth it, because I will get to see all Kelsey and Kirby at the same time. My daughter Kristin is raising her kids exactly how she was raised.....on the athletic fields. I guess I did something right
Later.

That is good stuff...the relationships you build in football is the best but I love preparation and film study during the week. It is a labor of love.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you get to see the grandkids. Having them around is awesome. I know you are proud!!!
